Established in 2011, Mozzeria is a fast-growing pizzeria owned and operated by a fully Deaf staff, and we are looking for a Restaurant and Sales manager that is passionate, motivated, fun to work with, and organized for our San Francisco restaurant!

This is a role in which you would work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the overall success of the restaurant and food truck operations. This is a full-time salaried position, there is also a $1,000 sign on bonus payable after six months of proven employment.

You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant for our dinner service, as well as our food truck! In addition to being fluent in American Sign Language, having the ability to motivate and lead our team is a must. You should also have a very sharp eye for detail, always with the customer experience in mind.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Must be at least 21 years of age
1+ years management or supervisory experience in restaurant, hotel, retail or general business required *2+ years casual dining or full-service restaurant management experience preferred
ServSafe, local and state certifications or the ability to obtain required
Proactive and positive problem solver. Assertive without being threatening
Self-driven and initiating
Great people skills, and easily coach and train others

Responsibilities:

Manage all restaurant and Food Truck operations
Recruiting, hiring and training/coaching of team members
Run daily pre-shift meetings, including coordinating between FOH and BOH
Train all members on the delivery of the Mozzeria Experience
Control labor costs, inventory management, use POS system, spreadsheets, run daily/weekly reports
Ensure food quality and enforce all safety and sanitation regulations
Conduct sales and marketing efforts for Food Truck and Restaurant
Ensure all maintenance is completed as required, including licenses.
Service + Hospitality: Our team is encouraged to share our enthusiasm with our guests
Guide Team Leaders and staff to ensure the service and hospitality standards of Mozzeria are upheld during every service
Encourage all staff to be proactive in taking initiative with improving all aspects of service
Motivate the team through daily lineups – service strategy and application of company core values
Foster a fun work environment through recognition, friendly competition and respect
Lead monthly training to help build knowledge of our offering and the brand
Be proactive in finding ways to generate raves and reviews for restaurant as well as individual team members

People + Leadership:

Build a top-notch team – focus on building strong culture, continuous hiring, heightened on-boarding processes and ongoing training
Hire and train staff according to Mozzeria standards for hospitality and excellence
Seize teachable moments wherever possible; always engage in to coaching team members to refine their skills
Provide continuous, gracious feedback and guidance to the management team via weekly meetings

Operations:

Guide all teams to run an efficient and effective business
Fully understand and comply with all Federal, State, County regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements for employees and guests.
Maintain sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
Ensure efficient operations through labor scheduling in anticipation of business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed as needed and labor cost objectives are met.
Coach and cross-train employees to be effective at all positions according to Mozzeria’s mission.

Performance & Profitability:

Ensure consistency of brand and product while achieving desired profitability
Work closely with Operations Manager to create weekly, quarterly and annual financial forecasts and goals for restaurant and food truck.
Control P&L including food, labor and operating cost controls by analyzing variances and initiating corrective action to maintain financial course.
Analyze work processes to determine effective system improvements and recommendations.
Achieve company objectives in sales, service and quality.

Event and Catering Sales:

Ensure strong growth by successfully capturing the food truck and catering market

More about you:

Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s preferred
Relevant degree in hospitality a plus
Passion for hospitality, commitment to quality and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, clear communicator
Flexible and adaptive to fast-changing priorities and work demands; ability to solve problems without guidance
Attention to small details, thorough
Assertive and thrives in a leadership position, ability to lead others to Mozzeria’s standards of quality and service

Requirements:
Complete and maintain Food Handler Certification in good standing upon hire.
Clean driving record of 7 years or more.
Fluent in American Sign Language.
Highly motivated, self-directed, efficiently communicate with other staff.
