Description: Develops storytelling for Gallaudet University through video production and photography; leads the planning, filming, photography, editing and graphic design of a wide range of projects that tell Gallaudet’s story; works with and supervises contract and student employees/interns who support photography and film production; consults on media equipment purchases and oversees the maintenance of equipment; and serves as an ambassador for the GU brand with all film and photos working with other departments in the University to ensure brand consistency. 


I. Works in collaboration with the Public Relations, Creative and Marketing team to identify and develop stories for the University.

II. Participates in the development of scripts for stories, interfaces the development of visual media i.e graphic images and animation.

III. Participates in the development of scripts for online courses; and integrates the development of visual media—i.e. graphics, images, etc.-to be included within the lessons and creates and revises scripts accordingly. 

IV. Assists with video production, both in and outside of studio setting; and ensures good quality lighting, background, and other aspects of the production phase. V. Plans and performs video post-production tasks which includes reviewing footage, rough cuts, color correction, and final editing using Adobe After-Effects; utilizes computer graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall production concepts; compresses video projects for output; makes video products available in a variety of formats, or streaming media files; and coordinates internal and external duplication services as required. 

VI. Consults on equipment purchases in support of digital media projects.  VII. Oversees and tracks inventory of digital media equipment, responsible for maintenance of upkeep of equipment.

VIII. Serves as a mandatory Title IX reporter; and takes annual Title IX training as part of the compliance effort.

IX. Performs other related duties, as assigned. 

Required Qualifications are as follows:
– Bachelor’s degree. 
– A minimum three years of professional experience in digital media production or related fields.
– Fluency in American Sign Language.Preferred Qualifications
– Documented evidence of experience working in the digital media field, including pre-production, production and post-production phases. 
– Demonstrated high standards for the quality and creativity of the end product highly desirable.

SALARY:  Commensurate with experience and qualifications
