POSITION SUMMARY:
Day Child Care Workers function as classroom assistants when school is in session, and move to the dorm when school is not in session. The person filling this position will provide for the instructional needs of students and with additional needs that arise in the classroom. Primary responsibilities include assisting the teacher with planning and implementing academic tasks, as well as working with specialists to create a highly structured environment conducive to learning.
Classroom Assistants provide direct supervision and monitoring of students and work on an individual or small group basis. Classroom assistants also act as Child Care Workers during non-school days and are always responsible for implementing treatment plans and for the direct care and safety of the students residing at Walden School.

Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:
- Participate fully in all classroom activities and student assignments. Attend and participate in required meetings, completing assigned report writing tasks in a timely manner, and communicate with members of the students’ multidisciplinary team.
- Assists teachers in preparation of instructional materials and classroom visuals for student and instructor use and assumes responsibility and instructions of students in the absence of the classroom teacher
- Participates in direct service planning and lesson planning with Classroom Teacher and/or in a team approach.
- During academic and/or social-recreational activities or lessons, support the students by providing individual assistance as needed and guide behavior support plans under the direction of the teacher.
- Supervise students during transition times.
- Assist with the planning of structured and age appropriate activities and outings during vacation days.
- Supervise students in daily routines and assist with the activities of daily living skills.
- Support and assist students using therapeutic interventions consistent with the treatment model at Walden School.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A minimum of a High School diploma; college degree is preferred
- Must be ASL Proficient Must be able to work in conjunction with classroom teachers on daily instruction and work effectively as part of an educational team
- Prior experience working with children preferred
- Drivers license and a driving record in good standing

Job Summary:
WWRC seeks a Interpreter for the Deaf to work primarily a second shift allowing equal access to programs and services in the afternoon and evening environment. This position may work some first shift hours to provide occasional coverage where needs exist.
In accordance with Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) standards, facilitates communication between deaf and hearing by employing both transliterating and interpreting skills. - Work closely with the Rehabilitation Counseling Department to provide general administrative case management assistance with comprehensive vocational rehabilitation services which result in employment and enhanced independent living.
- Services are provided in compliance with Federal, State, Agency and Center policy and procedures, and may include screening referrals, collecting and documenting information, preparing and processing OGS, maintaining data in automated service tracking system, and providing transportation of students for a wide variety of services.
- Plan and provide quality interpreting and transliterating services for VR consumers participating in WWRC programs and for consumer family members, staff, and visitors as indicated, in accordance with the RID Code of Conduct
- Provide agency accessibility by facilitating communication between signing and non-signing individuals.
- To meet the expectations of the Staff Interpreter, the incumbent must have access to personally identifiable and confidential information about agency consumers and/or agency staff.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Valid Virginia driver’s license or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Certificate of Transliteration or Interpretation through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf or Quality Assurance Screening Level III or above through the VQAS testing system, Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) Level III Intermediate or above via EIPA Diagnostic Center, or National Interpreting Certification.
- Interpreting/transliterating experience in both individual and group situations.
- Knowledge of deaf culture and common communication issues associated with deafness and hearing loss; the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words and rules of composition and grammar; office procedures, tracking systems, and work-task organization; and, Windows-based computer software, or similar work processing software.
- Competencies: -Proficiency in American Sign Language and other signing communication modalities. Proven interpreting and transliterating skills in American Sign Language, expressive and receptive as determined by State Quality Assurance Screening
- Skills in leading teams to desired outcomes; and, promoting and delivering quality interpreter services for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Ability to: independently plan, organize, and prioritize work to accomplish team goals; interpret and appropriately apply established policies and procedures in the provision of services; analyze and interpret complex information for various audiences; interpret client communication in a manner that others understand consumer views and/or wishes; maintain confidential information and abide by RID’s Code of Conduct; and, organize and manage multiple and sometimes unrelated or competing responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from varying social and economic environments.
- Completion of an interpreter training program or equivalent amount of training and experience.

Position Overview:
The Subnetworks Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing and providing support to centers in 988 Subnetworks who are providing crisis and suicide prevention over phone, chat, text, videophone and web based technologies. This position requires frequent interaction with 988 network centers and leaders in the suicide prevention and crisis center communities.
This position is seeking candidates fluent in American Sign Language.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate operations for centers providing Subnetwork Services.
- Support centers, providing ongoing support and oversight; facilitate regular conference calls; ensure center’s operation concerns are resolved.
- Collaborate and coordinate center technical issues with Vibrant/Lifeline IT staff
- Develop & complete monthly reports
- Provide operations support to Lifeline centers (w/focus on software, platforms, and technical assistance)
- Work with other Vibrant teams to provide accurate and complete information to operations team and Lifeline network centers and help develop and test tools for both internal and external stakeholder use
- Represent Lifeline at major national or regional conferences and advisory committees that will enhance Lifeline’s recognized leadership in best practices in Clinical Technologies
- Respond to emails from public website including user complaints and inquiries
- Collaborate with centers in the Videophone and other subnetwork and other Operations
- Teams to review interaction trends, troubleshoot concerns/complaints, and share data with Vibrant team, funders and other key stakeholders ensuring that all operational grant related program goals and objectives are measured, met and or exceeded and develop strategies for improvement.
- Review daily, week, monthly operations reports, analyzing trends and challenges within the Subnetworks
- Oversee the adherence to the implementations of new operational policies and procedures throughout the Subnetworks
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in call center operations management; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies
- Manage and analyze performance trends and KPIs for the Subnetworks

Knowledge and experience related to using and understanding Videophone technologies and implementing data reporting. Ideally the candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Data Sciences, Business, or a related field.
